“I rescued a mustang in June of 2018. Cara saw my post online and kindly offered to help get him used to people and begin ground work. I was nervous because I didnt know her and I just wanted my boy to be well taken care of. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about. In 3 months he was easy to catch, loading into trailers, standing tied, standing for the farrier, a dream to groom and excelling on ground work and desensitizing. We adopted a blm burro from Cara. Dustin decided he didn’t want a horse but wanted a blm burro instead. Cara at Montana Mustang & Burro Connection and Rescue helped us find the perfect match for him. His name is Magoo and he is an 18 yr old gelding that was captured in 2022. Magoo is the softest soul. What a fun clinic with Cara Seekell from Montana Mustang & Burro Connection and Rescue! All of the horses are in different places in their training. A lot of firsts happened – first touches, first cinches, first saddling, first time picking up feet…. Cara demonstrated different strategies and talked a lot about reading the cues from the horse, understanding their behavior and effective communication.
